Travel Technology Expert Ian Wheeler joins Infare as Chairman - Leading provider of competitor air travel data

Copenhagen, 19 February 2018 – Prominent travel technology executive Ian Wheeler is joining the board of Infare, the market-leading provider of airfare intelligence to the aviation and travel industries, as non-executive chairman.

Having spent his career at the crossroads of travel and technology in a variety of executive and non-executive roles, Wheeler is well placed to help Infare meet its ambitious growth objectives. He currently serves as president of Travelfusion, non-executive director of Tungsten Corporation and special partner in the travel and technology sector for private equity firm Vitruvian Partners, whose investments in travel have included Skyscanner, JacTravel and OAG.

Founded in 2000 in Copenhagen, Infare is relied upon by more than 260 airlines, airports and travel agents for high-quality, consistent airfare data and powerful analysis tools that allow day-to-day and long-term strategic revenue management, pricing and network decisions to be taken with confidence.

Previously, Wheeler worked for 13 years at global travel technology provider Amadeus, where he held the positions of vice president of distribution (GDS), vice president of global marketing and managing director of e-travel. His earlier career was spent at Thomas Cook, Hertz and OAG. He has also been involved as a non-executive director at JacTravel, Vayant Travel Technologies, Cabforce, Traveltainment and Vacation.com.
