We are looking for a Database Administrator who can join our growing SRE Team. You will be responsible for maintaining the current database ecosystem, both on-prem and cloud-based, as well as being involved in migration plans. We will provide the opportunity for you to directly impact building new components and improving our Software and Infrastructure operations with modern scalable tools and solutions. We are hoping to migrate everything to the cloud soon and not depend on DC hardware anymore.

As a DB administrator, you will:

  • Work in a high-transaction environment based on MS SQL 2008R2 and 2014;
  • Build, design, and implement database architecture in accordance to product developers’ high availability and quality requirements;
  • Define users and enable data distribution to the right user, in the appropriate format and on time;
  • Determine, enforce, and document database policies, procedures, and standards;
  • Perform tests and evaluations regularly to ensure data security, privacy, and integrity;
  • Monitor database performance, implement changes and apply new patches and versions when required.
  • Provide proactive and reactive data management support and training to SRE team.

Must have:

  • At least 2+ years of hands-on experience in MSSQL engineer role (Microsoft SQL Server administration, troubleshooting, and performance tuning);
  • Extensive knowledge of database concepts, practices, and procedures;
  • Hands-on experience with most components of relational database design in a high-availability, transactional environment;
  • Hands-on experience with database infrastructure & operations (pref. in a 24/7 mission-critical environment);
  • Knowledge in setup, management, and monitoring of SQL Server 2008/2014 databases;
  • Knowledge in Database capacity planning , Microsoft Clustering, management, and monitoring of SQL Server 2008/2014 databases;
  • Knowledge in replication architecture and operational definition;
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Bonus points if you have:

  • Microsoft Certifications;
  • A degree in Computer Science;
  • Any Cloud provider experience.
